[Ifeffit] Help with Athena

Maybe you were right about the anti virus software, but finally I've solved installing an older version of Demeter, 0.9.13, and updating to 0.9.18.2 (any other version worked). I guess my computer is so old (it is 64bit by the way).


Though this is solved now, I have a problem with some options of the main window (spline range, forward and backward fourier transforms) because they are blocked when I import my data (see the attached screenshot data6.png), whereas with an example data of your webpage they are not (see the attached screenshot fe.060.png). I cannot figure out what happens, maybe there's a problem in the way I save the data (see attached file test_OD_6.txt)?


Thank you so much and sorry for all the questions, I have no doubt that there are no problems with Demeter, but it's me that I am just getting into this world and cannot figure out so many things.

I remain suspicious of your anti virus software.  You should check the
AV logs and see if they quarantined any files around the time you
installed Demeter.

As I said up front, I have never seen this problem before and no one has
ever reported anything like it to the mailing list.  I am not trying to
dodge responsibility, but nothing you've said so far indicates that
there is a problem with Demeter or the installer.  It really seems to me
like the problem is your AV software or some other aspect of how your
computer is administered.

As always, I am 100% open to being convinced otherwise.

You could, I suppose.  That might help track down the problem.

You will need to configure Demeter to find the newly installed gnuplot,
or it won't help your problem with Athena.  That is, Athena is
configured to look for a specific copy of gnuplot in a specific
location.  That location can be changed, but it won't happen
automagically if you install gnuplot in some other way.


By the way, when you say "Windows computer", what version do you
actually mean?  32 bit or 64?
