software announcement

Hi,

Today Matt Newville released a new version of Ifeffit, which is
available at

  http://cars.uchicago.edu/ifeffit/

"IFEFFIT is an interactive program for XAFS analysis. It combines the
high-quality analysis algorithms of AUTOBK and FEFFIT with graphical
display of XAFS data and general data manipulation."

There you will find installation packages for Unix (well tested on
Linux and SGI) and for Windows (NT, 2000, and XP). The Windows
installation package includes the application programs TkAtoms and
Athena, which are written by me. Information about these packages, as
well as installation packages for Unix can be found at

  http://feff.phys.washington.edu/~ravel/software/exafs/

Regards,
Bruce and Matt
