1.4 Tomography Motors
We
only need to use one set of motors under CCD_Camera_Stage. The CCD camera assembly is mounted on the LVP
table (meaning it will move with the press, when you drive the LVP Lift
Table). This is convenient, as the image
position will not change as one moves the LVP up and
down (Y), or along the X-ray beam (Z).
There may be come confusion, however.
The mirror that reflects the visible light image (converted from X-ray
image with a YAG phosphor) is rotated 45° from the incident X-ray
beam. Therefore, when you drive the CCD
Z motor, the image will move laterally, as if the sample moves along X. The CCD X motor, on the other hand, is used
to focus the image, because driving along X will change the distance between
the CCD and the YAG phosphor. Figure
below shows the physical setup.
