Dear all, I’m pleased to introduce Emily Padston as the new Outreach & Inclusion Officer and Associate Director for SEES. Emily was previously the Executive Director for two other NSF-funded programs at the University of Chicago, Data Science for Energy and Environmental Research and the Center for Robust Decision-making on Climate and Energy Policy. She has a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University and a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University. Emily lives in the South Loop of Chicago with her husband, 1-year-old son, and two cats. She enjoys reading a variety of fiction books, trying tasting menus, and exploring the Midwest after spending most of her time on the East Coast. As SEES Outreach & Inclusion Officer, Emily will lead the coordination of all outreach, education, and inclusion activities within the SEES organization and is the point of contact for collaborations in this area.
