Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity in Mineral Physics study of exoplanets at ASU (51 Pegasi b Fellowship)

Dear Colleagues, If you are seeking exciting postdoctoral opportunities in planetary astronomy, planetary interiors, or mineral physics of exoplanets and solar system bodies, we invite you to consider applying for the Heising-Simons Foundation 51 Pegasi b Postdoctoral Fellowship (https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.hsfoundation.org/programs/science/51-... ). The School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) at Arizona State University is an eligible host institution. This fellowship is comparable to the NSF and NASA postdoctoral programs, and this will be our third year of participation. In just the past two years, SESE has successfully hosted four 51 Pegasi b Fellows, highlighting our strong research environment for early-career scientists. Key details: * Application deadline: October 3, 2025 * Eligibility: Applicants must have earned their PhD on or after January 1, 2024, and must be within 2 years post-PhD at the fellowship start date (Fall 2026). At ASU, our group leads four NSF- and NASA-funded projects on the physics and chemistry of planetary interiors and atmospheres, spanning both exoplanets and solar system planets (https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.danshimlab.info__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!cqc-... )<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.danshimlab.info)/__;!!G_uCfscf7eWS!cq... >. Recent publications include: * PNAS (2023)<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2309786120_... > * Nature Astronomy (2021)<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.nature.com/articles/s41550-021-01368-... > * Planetary Science Journal (2023)<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/PSJ/ac... > We welcome inquiries from potential applicants and encourage you to reach out if you are interested in applying through ASU/SESE as your host institution. Please also feel free to share this opportunity with colleagues and networks. Thanks, Dan Shim
