Dear SEES community, I am forwarding the following workshop advertisement for Dr. Debora Meira (dmeira@anl.gov). +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ We are pleased to announce the second workshop, “eBERlight 101: Application of X-ray methods in biological and environmental research”, to be held February 11–13, 2026, at Argonne National Laboratory. The goal is to help participants incorporate synchrotron X-ray methods into their research toolkit to study the physical and chemical properties of bioenvironmental systems, including plants, soils, and microbes. This three-day, hands-on workshop will educate the user community about the Advanced Photon Source (APS) capabilities and their applications in bioenvironmental science, with a focus on three key synchrotron-based techniques: • X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT) • X-ray Fluorescence Microscopy (XFM) • X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) Participants will gain experience in data collection and analysis, explore sample preparation, and engage in discussions of individual projects. The program combines fundamental technique talks, scientific case studies, and hands-on sessions using facility-provided samples. Important Dates • Application opens: October 15, 2025 • Application deadline: November 14, 2025 • Notification of acceptance: December 5, 2025 • ANL visitor registration deadline: December 15, 2025 • Workshop dates: February 11–13, 2026 Apply Here<https://eberlight.aps.anl.gov/application-of-x-ray-methods-in-biological-and... > For questions, please contact us at eberlight@anl.govmailto:eberlight@anl.gov. We look forward to welcoming you to Argonne for an engaging and collaborative learning experience! eBERlight Team
