Inability to plot in any space other than E
Hello, I have some EXAFS data at the S K-edge which all merges very nicely but I can't plot it under anything other than E. The other options are faded out along with all Fourier transform options, Rbkg etc. Is this a comment on the quality of the data (its not great)?! Or is it something else, the other plotting options work fine on other data (at other edges) I have. Any help / advice great fully received. Andy
Hi Andy,
I suspect you are importing your data as xanes(E) in Athena. All
options gets faded in that case.
When you import data in Athena, there are several options of data
type like xanes(E), mu(E), nor(E), chi(k) etc. When the data range is
short (which is likely the case for S K-edge), Athena automatically
imports the data as xanes (E). But you can easily force it to mu(E) so
that all the options are available.
Best,
Bhoopesh

Hi, if you use Athena and you can plot only in E scale check first - if your parameters are ok (resonable) especially these for transforming data from E scale to k scale, is it only one group in the athena project or one from many in project? could you send this data file? cheers kicaj ________________________________ Od: ifeffit-bounces@millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov w imieniu Andrew Connelly Wysłano: So 2008-04-12 21:34 Do: ifeffit@millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov Temat: [Ifeffit] Inability to plot in any space other than E Hello, I have some EXAFS data at the S K-edge which all merges very nicely but I can't plot it under anything other than E. Boopesh's answer was exactly right. Here are some relevent pages from the documentation: http://cars9.uchicago.edu/~ravel/software/doc/Athena/html/import/columns.htm... http://cars9.uchicago.edu/~ravel/software/doc/Athena/html/ui/glist.html#info... When Athena notices that imported data cover a small energy range, it assumes the data are intended to be XANES data only. It then disables background removal for that group in order to speed up data processing and plotting. You can enable normal data processing as Bhoopesh suggested or by using the dialog described on those two document pages.
