Error importing data into Athena
Hi, I’m running the current version of Athena on a windows 10 machine. It had been working fine, but now I get an error whenever I try to import new data (.dat file from SSRL). The error tells me the program can’t read the file and asks whether I need a plugin. Do I need a plugin? How do I uninstall and reinstall the program? I’m guessing this might be the best fix? Thanks! Sharon
Sharon, It's pretty important to ask questions in a way that aids and encourages answers. In this case, it's basically impossible to help given that you shared neither the error message nor an example of the data that triggered the error. /Good/ questions get good answers. But also.... if the program suggests that you need a file plugin, you probably do. From athena's main window there is the "page selection menu". Near the bottom there is "plugin registry". You probably want to select the SSRL ones, and then try reading in the file again. --Matt
Sharon, yes, you do need SSRL plugins to import SSRL files. It is because Athena expects to have X-ray energy as the first column, whereas SSRL data files have time as the first column. Open Athena, click on Main Window, find Plugin Registry and enable all SSRL plugins.
