Re: [Ifeffit] Bugs in Athena under Windows
Hi again, I attached a standard athena project file to this mail, in order to demonstrate the bug that follows a merging process. The project file contains 4 standard EXAFS measurements of a PtCo3/C nanoparticle (+ref) which shall be merged. As I told before the merging works, but afterwards I can not do anything else, the program hangs up. This bug does appear under Windows XP.c With best regards Timna-Josua Kuehn

Thanks for following up with the project file. There is no obvious problem in that project file -- it works as I would expect on my own computer. So right now, I am leaning towards Matt's suggestion that it is a problem in how the windows executables were built. I need to budget some time to investigate these windows-related issues and then, presumably, rebuild the executables and prepare and update. I'll try to do that by early next week.... Thanks for the project. With a freshly installed ifeffit-1.2.11 on
Windows XP (that is, straight from the download site, not fixed in any
way), I could read this in and merge the data in mu(E), norm(E), or
chi(k) and still have athena be responsive. That is, I don't see any
trouble with your project file. Could you explain what actions
trigger the non-responsive behavior? Like, after reading in the
project file, what steps should I take? I'd like to check whether
it's related to the earlier problem.
There definitely *is* a problem any time the fix_chik macro (and
possibly other things) are run with the currently distributed athena
0.8.056 for windows. I'm pretty sure this will be fixed just by
remaking athena.exe with the newer dll.
