Re: [Ifeffit] trial release #9 for Windows for Demeter 0.9.20 (Bruce Ravel)
Dear Dr. Bruce, I am not able to download the installation file from the link provided by you. It gives some kind of "access denied" error. I don't know if this is caused by some firewall from my institute or is a genuine problem. I have attached a screenshot of the error. Could you perhaps provide another link to download the file? I (and someone at the IIT XAFS School) can confirm this.
The AWS links aren't browseable. Is it possible to allow browsing? If
not, is sourceforge.net a viable alternative?

Let's do this in a more maintainable way. As long as I continue to make the trial releases for 0.9.20, I will keep a link up-to-date at the main web site http://bruceravel.github.io/demeter/ Scroll down to the header that says "Windows Installer & Updater". The two links that say "[64 bit installer]" and "[32 bit installer]" will be kept up to date with the latest trial package. I keep ironing out the wrinkles (the problem with Artemis' GDS window that I mentioned yesterday is now fixed) so hopefully I will soon be able to make a proper release. I am grateful to the people who have been helping me out by trying these trial packages. An update to demeter-devel on MacPorts will be coming soon. Promise! Sounds good. A simple two shell fit worked for me on 32-bit Windows 7,
haven't tried much.

Hello, It is just because your E-Mail program has cut a part of the link. If you take it in whole an d paste in the browser it is working. Here the links pieces are glued back.

Hi Kathy, Thanks, but the automated link shown in the email reader wasn't actually the problem. Badari's report showed the full url (ending with pre9.exe) and the result was not "file not found" but "access denied". Looking for the 0.9.20 pre9 exe now gives a "file not found" error -- Bruce must have removed it. --Matt
As I said yesterday -- http://millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/pipermail/ifeffit/2014-July/011962.html -- I will keep a link up-to-date on the Demeter homepage during this period where I am making trial releases available for testing. B On 07/11/2014 07:44 AM, Matt Newville wrote:
