Hi folks, I just got a new computer and put SuSE Linux 8.1 on it. Now I started compiling ifeffit (which worked fine with the 7.3 version on my old one) and it produced the following error: ./configure worked. When I tried to do "make", it gave me loads of "undefined references" to some commands (mainly: tputs and so on). I examined the output of ./configure and found the following lines: checking for tputs in -lncurses... (cached) no checking for tputs in -lcurses... (cached) no checking for tputs in -ltermcap... (cached) no checking for tputs in -lterminfo... (cached) no checking for tputs in -ltermlib... (cached) no Anyone who can help me with this? Thanks in advance :) Regards, Norbert Weiher
Hi Norbert, Could you start with a fresh source kit (or do 'make distclean'), and then do ./configure > conf.out make > make.out and send me the results. For what its worth, 'tputs' really ought to be in either ncurses or termcap. I thought this worked with SuSE 8.0, and it definitely works with Redhat 7.x, 8.x, and at least one Debian system... Sorry for the trouble, --Matt On Mon, 10 Feb 2003, Norbert Weiher wrote:

Hi Matt, I don't know why but after deleting the old sources and starting over with the freshly unpacked tarball everything worked. I swear I didn't alter my system since yesterday... Anyway thanks for the quick answer to my question. Regards, Norbert Am Montag, 10. Februar 2003 17:31 schrieb Matt Newville:
