Can't change values in Athena and Artemis on Ubuntu(Feisty)
Hi Carlo Segre, I install Athena and Artemis from your compiled deb package for feisty. When I try to change values in Athena and Artemis, it doesn't work. The only way change the value is click on the plot canvas. I have tried to execute program as root user, but it also doesn't work. Looking forward for you help. Hi Jun: Do you mean changing the values in the text boxes? Sometimes, I have noticed that you have to double click on the box or select all of the text in order to be able to change values using the keyboard. I haven't figured out when this happens though, it seems sort of random to me. Carlo On Thu, 30 Aug 2007, Jun Lin wrote:

Hi, I have never seen this behavior, so I don't have any good ideas about what is going on. Let me ask a few questions .... Could the problem be that you have pressed the num lock or scroll lock button on the keyboard? Have you tried to install my codes from source rather than from the deb package? Are there any messages written to the screen when you start the programs from the command line? Hi Jun: I got my hands on an Ubuntu (feisty) last night. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the error that you are describing in athena. I am able to click on the text boxes and change the values with the keyboard without any problem. One thing that I have noticed in the past is that sometimes it is necessary to select the entire text in the box before you are able to modify it but that usually does the trick. If you would like me to help a bit more on this, why don't you just send me email off-list? Perhaps I can get some specific information about your system from you and figure it out.
