Hello All: The horae-063 Debian packages have been built. For the "sarge" release, you can find it at my repository deb http://fermi.phys.iit.edu/debian/sarge binary/ For the "sid" (unstable) release, it has been uploaded to the Debian mirrors and should be available within 24 hours or so. For the "etch" (testing) release, I hope that it will make it into the contrib section before release at the end of December. It takes about 10 days. If you just can't wait, let me know. Finally, I know that the "etch" and "sid" Debian packages will not install in Ubuntu (along with ifeffit too). Is there any interest in getting these included in Ubuntu? If so, please let me know and I will see about it. I have not tried as of yet since I don't know any Ubuntu developers yet. Cheers, Carlo -- Carlo U. Hey Carlo, I have been playing around with kubuntu on a couple of my computers. I was, in fact, going to ask you the next time I saw you if the debian packages would install under ubuntu. The perl version is slightly out of sync since Debian unstable is more current. Since ubuntu has the same development tools as Debian, it should not be hard to build the packages on ubuntu. I will get an edgy machine set up and do this. Carlo On Tue, 28 Nov 2006, Bruce Ravel wrote:

Well, I spent a bit of time building some ubuntu packages today and I now have both "dapper" and "edgy" sets available. This includes the pgplot5, ifeffit, horae, and libstar-parser-perl packages. All the other packages are already in ubuntu. A "breezy" version was not possible to build easily and since it is an out-of-date release, I decided not to put a lot of effort into it. Also, these are only for the i386 architecture at the moment. The repositories are at: deb http://fermi.phys.iit.edu/debian/edgy binary/ deb http://fermi.phys.iit.edu/debian/dapper binary/ Please let me know if you have problems with these builds. Again, if there seems to be a lot interest, I can try to get them into ubuntu proper. Carlo -- Carlo U. Hi there, I installed the most recent "sarge" package in my Kubuntu box with no problems. Sooo easy, it takes all the fun out of it! However, I haven't succeeded opening my Artemis files I created about 5 months ago under Fedora 3, while I was still at Notre Dame. I don't really know whether this comes from a version incompatibility or it is a linux distribution related problem. As soon as I can I will send out the message trapped by Artemis, and hopefully we can figure out what is going on. Thank you all for your time.
