Hi Tien:
The transmission data is always sloping down because the absorption
coefficient, which is being measured in absolute terms by transmission,
varies as E^-3 except where there is an edge jump. Therefore you
should see that downward slope in transmission if you have measured it
correctly.
The fluorescence measurement is not giving you the absolute absorption but
something which should be proportional to it. the slope of that baseline
very much depends on the details of the sample and the detector.
