Mmm, I thought that the symbolic link was stored in memory during a session, but is actually stored in a file...(every day I'm learning more about this Linux stuff)so it doesnt get removed after restarting the computer. Well, I remove the link, and yes, for me it also appears the "cannot find ltermcap" message; make[3]: Entering directory `/home/user/Programas/ifeffit-1.2.7/src/cmdline' cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -g -O2 -c iff_shell.c cc -g -O2 -L./lib/termcap -o ifeffit iff_shell.o ../lib/libifeffit.a -L/usr /local/pgplot -lpgplot -lpng -lz -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 .../../readline/libread line.a -ltermcap -L/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.4 -L/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i 586-suse-linux/3.3.4/../../../../i586-suse-linux/lib -lfrtbegin -lg2c -lm -lgc c_s /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.4/../../../../i586-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -ltermcap collect2: ld returned 1 exit status So the script itself appears to fail without the symbolic link. Please, dont think I know much about Linux commands, because like anyone starting with something new, I dont. Therefore anything that for you may appear as obvious is not necessarily obvius for me. Besides that, please forgive my lack of experience on this, I'm willing to give any feedback testing new scripts or anything else needed for better understanding of the problem. ______________ Marco A.
