I'm stuck at the installation of PGPLOT. I've tried then to install from Mat's PGPLOT_install script but ran into the same kind of error. Here it is:
Kubuntu is debian-based and, I think, can use any debian repository. So I think you should be able to use Carlo's debian repository to install the software. Just point kynoptic at the repositories mentioned here:
