I'm having some trouble installing the newest version (1.2.8). I've been trying to install the Ifeffit 1.2.8 package on my WinXP, but there seems to be a problem with the files. I've downloaded the installers from both sourceforge and cars.uchicago.edu, but whenever I try to run any of them I get the following message: "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program."
Leandro, I have downloaded and installed the current installer on 2 windows machines -- one XP, the other 2K. I had not trouble. But I have one idea for you to look into. The installer package is 27,281,991 bytes. Is the file you downloaded exactly the same size? If not, are you behind some kind of firewall? Or required to use a proxy server? Is it possible that the proxy or firewall is altering the installer as it passes through? If, in fact, the file size is not identical, you might consider bringing this up with your system administrators. Here is (I think!) the relevant FAQ from the Inno website: http://www.jrsoftware.org/isfaq.php#corrupt It seems to be saying a similar thing as I suggested. (Inno is the software Matt and I use to make the installer package after building ifeffit, horae, and the docs, examples, and such.)
