3. I often find that the "X" boxes for the upper ranges of k, R and q are outside the space allowed in the main part of the screen. I think I have fixed this by expanding the main window size in the preferences (15 instead of 14) so clearly it must be font size problem on my installation.
This is a good work around. The only thing I don't like about perl/Tk is that I have trouble making layout and font size work well regardless of platform or screen resolution. So this work-around is probably the best solution in the short- to mid-term. I should also mention that, although fonts cannot currently be set using the preferences dialog, you can edit your configuration file by hand to use different fonts. (That's ~/.horae/<program>rc on unix and C:\Program Files\horae\<program>\<program>.ini on windows.) This problem with layout and fonts is somewhat serious, but not a big enough problem yet to drive me to consider using a different GUI toolkit.
I also notice that the fonts in the "Artemis palettes" window (with the Messages, Results, etc.) are not fully formed and hard to read.
Could you send a screen shot of this to me directly, please? I should also mention that I have bug reports/suggestions from four people in the queue of things to do (thanks to Carlo, Paul, Scott, and Marco). For the last few days, I have been using my programming time to get ready for a new and improved windows installer, but I intend to address all of these bugs before the next release.
