Dear all,
I am using Demeter Athena 0.9.21 on Windows 8.1 x64. Recently I measured some XAS data in which there are some glitches. Somehow pluck tool is working very inaccurate for me during deglitching. I can’t select the point where I click, so I have to remove several points in order to get rid of one point. I have attached a short screen cast video along with sample XAS dataset in which I am trying to remove a point from pre-edge for demo purpose.
Hi Shoaib, You are indeed correct -- there is a mistake made in interpreting the point clicked upon when using the deglitching tool. The problem has to do with the deglitching tool not using the energy shift value correctly when interpreting the point clicked upon. I will shortly be checking a fix into github and this fix will appear in the next version of the Windows installer. The short-term work-around is to set the energy shift to 0, go do your deglitching, then rest the energy shift to the original value. In your case, change the energy shift from 2.767 to 0, then go to the deglitching tool, then restore the value of 2.767 back on the main window. Like all work-arounds, that's a bit of a pain in backside, but it will allow to make progress. Thanks for the bug report. As I often say here on the mailing list, useful bug reports here on the mailing list help make the software better for everyone!
