Frank, As always, thank you for doing yeoman's duty in maintaining the Macports version. I am immensely grateful that you are doing this and I hope that all the Mac users on this list are thinking happy thoughts at you. To everyone else: I am working towards a new release with lots of bug fixes and a few new feature. Linux users (*) who want to test this version could clone a copy from the repository at github. There will, of course, be a Windows installer once I am content with the current version. B (*) Windows user could also clone from github and install the latest version by hand. The caveat, other than needing to figure out how to use git, is that you need to make sure that the version of perl that comes with Demeter is first in the execution path. If any Windows users actually want to use git to stay up-to-date with the latest developments, I'd be happy to write up an explanation of how I manage the perl version problem on my Windows machines. OS X Users,
I have created a new port in Macports for demeter-devel based on the 0.9.20 version which is still in development. This has important fixes for the black window problem in Artemis. To install it, simply run the following commands in Terminal:
sudo port selfupdate sudo port uninstall demeter sudo port install demeter-devel
Feedback appreciated. I have only tested it on OS X 10.9.3 so far. Just keep in mind that the “devel” part means that this is not a release version and problems may exist.
Cheers! Frank
