We encourage you to consider submitting abstracts if you plan on attending and the topics are relevant to your research. The deadline for abstracts submissions is 2 August (23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT).

SESSION #1:
Session ID# 185526: "Advanced Experimental, Computational and Analytical Approaches in Exploring Deep Planetary Interiors (MR002)"
Great scientific discoveries have traditionally followed in the aftermath of experimental and theoretical breakthroughs. Recent advanced developments in experimental techniques allow in situ diagnostics of mineral properties and structure modeling at extreme pressure, temperature and stress conditions in various time-domain modes that grant access to the most complex parts of the Earth and planetary interiors. The extension of spatial and energy resolution limits of X-ray and optical techniques encourage experiments at the ultimate instrumental limits. Pioneer theoretical computations allow the full assessment of countless plausible scenarios that describe micro- and macroscopic processes in various time scales. This session welcomes all contributions that highlight cutting-edge developments in static and dynamic experimental techniques as well as innovative computational and analytical approaches that address a variety of physical and chemical properties of materials, and enhance our understanding of the evolution, structure and dynamics of the Earth's interior and other planetary bodies.

Session ID# 187582: "Elastic Properties of Earth and Planetary Materials and Their Application in Understanding Planetary Interiors (MR004)"
Stringent constraints on the structure, composition and dynamics of Earth and planetary interiors requires precise knowledge of the elastic properties of relevant materials, including but not limited to minerals, fluids, melts, and glasses, at different pressure, temperature, and chemical environments. Elasticity data from a wide range of high-pressure/high-temperature experimental techniques and new theoretical calculations continuously challenge our view of the deep Earth, and are also in urgent need for interpreting increasing seismic observations for other terrestrial planets beyond Earth. In this session, we invite contributions on recent progress in experimental, computational, and observational studies that will improve our understanding of the elastic properties of a wide range of Earth and planetary materials. We also aim to bring researchers together for an interdisciplinary discussion on the application of elasticity data to seismic interpretation and geodynamical modeling for a better understanding of Earth and planetary interiors.
