[Ifeffit] No plot window in Athena/Demeter on Mac OS X Yosemite

That's not how the communication works.  Demeter needs to start its own 
instance of gnuplot.

I'm afraid I don't know where to go from there.  Perhaps Joe or someone 
else can advise.
