Sorry to say, but it doesn't work for me.
Althogh in the src/cmdline/Makefile, with the new script the TERMCAP_LIB 
entry is now -ltermcap instead of ./lib/termcap.a,
the make process does not succeed:

cannot find -ltermcap
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status


Marco: Did you remove the symbolic link to /usr/lib before trying out 
Matt's new configure script???
