Re: Fwd: How to read the EXAFS information in feff.bin

Ding, Bruce,

I think the best strategy is to run Feff82 with PRINT settings of
 PRINT 0 0 0 0 0 3
which will cause all the feffnnnn.dat files to be written. Another
option is to not use Feff82 for EXAFS calculations.

We used to have a nice set of tools for reading and dealing with the
feff.bin files. These have gotten out-of-date with the latest
versions of Feff82, as some of the details of feff.bin were changed,
and no one has maintained these tools. It would be possible to
resurrect these, or even expand them into an application to read,
display, and save feff.dat files from a feff.bin file. Sadly, there
doesn't seem to be a lot interest in distributing, maintaining, or
even encouraging such tools. Ifeffit should probably handle Feff8's
feff.bin files, but currently does not.

Hope that helps,
