Installing Larch

To prepare for this part of the course, You will want to install Larch 0.9.44 (Yes, released yesterday!!). Larch 0.9.43 will mostly work, but there are some small bugs.

You can download and install the Larch software and its XAS Viewer application ahead of time or during the course from

and are also on two USB thumbdrives.

If you already installed Larch 0.9.43, you should be able to open an “Anaconda Prompt” and type:

conda update xraylarch

On Windows, that is likely to mean opening a command prompt and typing:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Continuum\xraylarch\Scripts\conda.exe -yc GSECARS xraylarch
