Installing Feff9 / JFEFF
=============================

For the afternoon session, Josh Kas will start with a presentation giving an overview of Feff9 and
JFeff and then give some practical demos and have time for some hands-on calculations.

An installer for JFEF is at

    https://tinyurl.com/APSXANES2019/installers

and are also on two USB thumbdrives.


You will need to make sure that your "Java Runtime" is up-to-date.

WINDOWS
---------

1. Make sure you have an updated JAVA JRE. You can find java at
https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html

2. Unzip APSFEFF2019.zip using your favorite archiving tool. I use 7zip, but there are many.

3. Navigate to  APSFEFF2019/installers

4. Double click on  jfeff-9.7.1-windows-installer.exe


MAC OSX
---------

1. You will need java JDK 8 to run jfeff. You can find it at
https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
You may be required to sign up for an oracle account, which is free.

2. Unzip APSFEFF2019.zip using your favorite archiving tool. I use 7zip, but there are many.

3. Navigate to  APSFEFF2019/installers

4. Double click on jfeff-9.9.1-osx-HighSierra-installer.dmg

5. Double click on the .pkg install package to install JFEFF.



LINUX
------

Good Luck!
