Call for Abstracts – GSA Connect 2025, San Antonio, Texas!
Topical Session T53: Emerging Contaminants: Geochemical Insights and Impacts on Human and Environmental Health
After a highly successful session last year at Goldschmidt, we are thrilled to bring this important topic back for a second year at GSA Connect 2025!
This session invites interdisciplinary contributions that advance our understanding of emerging contaminants. Some of the major topics are as follows:
Advances in analytical methods: for trace detection and speciation
Fate and transport: in soils, sediments, and aquatic systems
Ecological and human health impacts: across scales
Innovative mitigation strategies: including novel materials and sustainable technologies
We aim to bring together geochemists, environmental scientists, hydrogeologists, and engineers to exchange cutting-edge findings and approaches for tackling these persistent pollutants.
