MR001: Advanced Experimental Analytical Approaches in Exploring Planetary Interiors
https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu25/prelim.cgi/Session/250231
Deadline: July 30, 2025
Recent advancements in experimental techniques now enable in situ investigations of mineral properties under extreme pressure and temperature conditions, providing unprecedented access
to the complex environments of planetary deep interiors. Historically, groundbreaking scientific discoveries have long been driven by experimental innovations, particularly those involving advanced detector technologies that have achieved remarkable enhancements
in spatial and temporal resolution over the past few years. Especially state-of-the-art large-area hybrid pixel photon-counting detectors offer exceptional signal-to-noise ratios, rapid data acquisition, and operational efficiency tailored to synchrotron-based
applications. These advancements promise transformative improvements across diverse researches on diffraction, scattering, spectroscopy, and imaging. This session invites contributions that showcase cutting-edge developments in both static and dynamic compression
experimental methodologies, and novel analytical approaches for probing the physical and chemical properties of materials. By bridging experimental breakthroughs with planetary science, this session aims to deepen our understanding of the evolution, structure,
and dynamic processes governing planetary systems.
