Hi Chris, Thanks. Oh, yeah WebAtoms is not working, at least not yet. I have not looked into doing this yet and am not sure how easy this would be to get working. I guess I should ask whether folks here think we should "fix", "replace",

Hi Chris,

Thanks.  Oh, yeah WebAtoms is not working, at least not yet.   I have not looked into doing this yet and am not sure how easy this would be to get working.

I guess I should ask whether folks here think we should "fix", "replace", "forget" this app?

(And thanks Jeff:  it turns out that we have really good people for this at CARS -- I was really dreading the mailman upgrade but Chris S in our group pull it off!).

Thanks for the information.  I apologize if this is a one-off situation but I recently returned to some XANES calculations in Feff and noted that the Webatoms link stopped working.  Would these Argonne change prevent access to the Webatoms like the hyperlink that Bruce Ravel has http://millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/webatoms/

thanks for any insights,
Chris

Hi Folks,

We needed to upgrade the operating system on the machine running this mailing list late last week.  That went well, but part of that process involved upgrading the "mailman" software used for this mailing list to the latest version.  That upgrade was long overdue (the web pages looked 20 years old because they were) but was also fairly involved.  Fortunately, we have great support in our group, and the new mailing list should be running smoothly (if you get this email, that is).

A consequence of this change is that many of the links for the mailing list have changed.  With recent changes in Argonne National Lab policies, URLs in emails get mangled to have "https://urldefense.us/v3" prefixes. So I apologize for the ugly and long following links:

The Main page for this list is at https://millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/mailman3/lists/ifeffit.millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/

If you had a password for the older list, this did not get moved over. If you want to change your setting, you can just use "Forgot Password" to sign in.

The Archives are now at https://millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/archives/list/ifeffit@millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/
This is a completely new archive format, but the translation (of about ~10,500 messages) worked reasonably well.

Existing links to any older message should redirect to the "top level archiive": we did not try map old message links to new ones or fix any broken links.

In addition, the archives at https://www.mail-archive.com/ifeffit@millenia.cars.aps.anl.gov/maillist.html should also still works.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

--Matt
