Hello Bruce,

Thank you for your prompt reply.  The Ifeffit.dll file does exist in that directory.  It was last modified on 3/16/2015 and is 753 kb.

I will try a fresh install in the default directory next time an IT person comes by our building.

Thanks,

Matt

I just started a post-doc position at the EPA and I will need to use

(with explicitly setting the path at the top of the batch file) and
0.9.23 prerelease 3, but neither work.  The program opens the command
prompt, shows the splash image briefly, and then disappears and produces
the log file (shown below) in the AppData folder.  This seems like it
has something to do with the way our computers are set up here. An IT

user restrictions etc., but the problem didn't change.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem or have you
encountered a similar problem with government computers?

Hi Matt,

All very weird.

As long as have an IT guy allowing you to try things, what happens if you let either 0.9.22 or 0.9.23pre3 install to their default locations?  You appear to be choosing something other than the default locations.

My concern is that the relocation part (i.e. the part that configures the package to use the selected installation location rather than the default) of the installation is failing.

Another question, does "C:/demeter/perl/site/lib/auto/Ifeffit/Ifeffit.dll" actually exist? That is, are you certain that your anti-virus thing did not intercept the installation of DLL file?

B

PS: I am close to 100% certain that the XSLoader/DynaLoader thing is a red herring.
